Isaac Willis, London ca. 1815

Early and rare unrestored square piano by Isaac Willis in London. This instrument was made around 1815 and is in full original condition. The case is in mahogany with inlays and brass inlay stringing around the nameboard. The nameboard is signed with "I. Willis. Maker. 18 St. James's Street London". The serialnumber is "2789".
There are two small cracks in the soundboard, the wrestplank and bridge are in excellent condition, pedal is missing. Keys are made in ivory, original tuning pins, single dampers. Action and hammers are in good condition, the hammers are covered with the original leather.
The original dust-cover is still present and in very good condition, without any cracks. It is signed with "By Special Appointment. Royal Harmonic Saloon. Isaac Willis. Music Seller and Piano Forte Maker. To His Majesty George the Fourth. Royal Harmonic Saloon & Circulating Library . 7. Westmorland St. Dublin."
We believe that this instrument was exported to Dublin upon completion in London.
Also this piano is handwritten signed on the wrestplank.
The instrument is standing on 4 turned legs (it originally had 6 legs; two are missing) with floral designed bronze applications at the top.
