English Clavichord made by Alec Hodsdon in Lavenham / Suffolk in 1961
in unrestored condition.
The case is made in walnut.
The nameboard is signed with:
"Alec Hodsdon. Lavenham Suffolk Fecit Anno MCMLXI"
The instrument is
fret-free and double strung, some strings are missing, one small crack
in the soundboard, bridge and wrestplank in perfect condition. The
sound of this clavichord is sustainable but also very intimate together.
The instrument is complete with tuning wrench and rests on a trestle
stand.
